3-Stage Agriculture

There are 24 villages in the Bregenzerwald.
With gentle meadows and pastures between 600 and 1400 meters above sea level.

Here the farmers still exert the typical three-stage agriculture.
The Alpine foothills are farmed in spring and autumn.
In summer, the cattle grazes on the high Alps.
And the valley meadows provide the hay for the winter.
