The diversity of different alpine and mountain cheeses can be experienced every year in Schwarzenberg at the “Alp- and Bergkäse” awards.

Almost all the mountain pastures and alpine dairies have their mountain and alpine cheeses with different ripening times checked by a strict jury.
The local gastronomy as well as the cheese display of the local shops offer different stages of maturity.

The origin of the cheese is transparent. The taste assessment of cheese lovers and cheese connoisseurs ranges from mild to spicy,
with a nutty or almond-like taste to a rich herb-like taste.
